KILNS, FURNACES, CERAMICS MANUFACTURERS

High-temperature insulation materials are typically used in kiln or furnace applications in different industries such as petrochemicals, iron and steel, ceramics, refractory, and powder metallurgy.
To deliver high quality products an ideal kiln should meet different challenges:

– Controlling both heating up and cooling in an effective and precise manner

– Ensuring stable and homogeneous temperature while saving cost and preserving energy

– Providing good working conditions

– Easy maintenance

HIGH TEMPERATURE ENGINEERING, REFRACTORY WORK

High temperature engineering and refractory work industries are looking for insulating products that will be safe and help improve productivity and reliability.
Essential  end-user technical expectations for refractory products are often the same:

– Low thermal conductivity and low heat storage

– Bearing capacities against weight

– Thermal shock resistance

– Attrition resistance

– Hot flue gasses and chemical attacks resistance

– Sound and vibration attenuation – Air tightness

IS ADDRESSING THE HIGH TEMPERATURE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU?

HIGH TEMPERATURE INSULATION HAS TO MEET YOUR CHALLENGES
INSULATING MINERAL FOAM

The direct cost of insulating materials for high-temperature canrepresent a significant part of the overall manufacturing cost (especially for industrial kilns) and are therefore critical pieces.

Manufacturers are facing issues to reduce their manufacturing costs and improve their solutions:

– Mitigation of fuel bills

– Management of temperature pattern within the heating chamber

– Optimization of duty cycles

IPSIIS is the only supplier to provide kiln manufacturers with cutting edge insulating materials, cost effective and with the fiber free guarantee.
Additionally, IPSIIS has the capacity to reduce further the manufacturing cost with the use of mineral deposits as raw material; this can be recycling cutting fines from refractory materials, stones cutting, or even cutting scraps issued from material machining. The IPSIIS solution enables a genuine circular economy.

Technical ceramics industry is fast growing due innovation in both products and applications to face ask for more production and needs for customization.

To address this market, manufacturers have to offer advanced technological solutions, with a capability to completely control the temperature pattern within the kiln chamber and along the heating cycle process.

It means everything has to be designed on purpose:

– dimensions

– heating system

– temperature control system

IPSIIS mineral foam meets this specific requirement, opening new applications without any mineral fibers and eventually both the energy and the time saved during the heating-up and cooling-down of each cycle is money in the bank.

In addition to solving technical challenges, it is a constant duty of the high-temperature industrial manufacturers, to provide better solutions, preventing health risks for their employees and end-users of their equipments.

Therefore the regulation imposes the substitution of RCFs when this is made possible, and asks to reduce or avoid user exposure to RCFs in a maximum of cases.

To tackle definitively the problem of Human exposure to mineral fibers, whenever they have been already listed or are just suspected to be listed maybe one day, IPSIIS has made a disruptive innovation, by developing a new high-temperature refractory material, entirely fiber free.

Energy consumption, CO2 and water footprints, waste reduction have become critical parts of an ecological development, which forms with the Social and Economical Responsibilities the so-called Sustainable Development.

IPSIIS has promoted a disruptive innovation to produce high performance insulating materials, based on an extremely low energy and carbon footprint process, using mineral wastes as the source of raw material, and creating therefore the first circular economy of refractory materials.

IPSIIS offers to the market a cutting edge 2 in 1 solution: a ‘Fiber free’ guarantee material, having an extremely low energy and carbon footprint for its manufacturing, and very lean in term of energy consumption during the heating cycles.
You want to pioneer the future of kilns, just discover the new IPSIIS high temperature mineral panels!

HOW DOES IPSIIS ALLOW TO MEET YOUR HIGH TEMPERATURE CHALLENGES

NEXT GENERATION OF REFRACTORY MATERIALS

The patented IPSIIS process yields light, natural, mineral foam with ultra low carbon footprint and energy content.
This foam named IPSIIS Foam S, is a rigid new material with excellent insulation and fireproofing properties, appropriate for the high temperature industry: kiln lining – glass industry – steel industry –  etc.

LOW DENSITY
Innovation comes from the creation of a porous material consisting for more than 90% of small air bubbles that induce the insulation.
IPSIIS foam is a high performance light mineral material – 300-350 kg/m3 – that can substitute heavier materials such as concrete (>2000kg/m3) or refractory bricks (>500 kg/m3) in several projects.

FIBER FREE
IPSIIS Foam S is a 100% mineral foam. Our product is fiber free, does not generate VOC emissions, neither does aqueous or gaseous effluents.
The compressive strength of the foam is around 2 MPa, avoiding the destructuration of the foam matrix.

HIGH THERMAL RESISTANCE
IPSIIS Foam S has extraordinary fireproof characteristics: the material is totally incombustible.
IPSIIS foam has an excellent resistance to thermal shocks. Depending on the chosen formulation, the resistance to high temperatures – soak heat – ranges from 1100 to 1300 ºC.
The material resists – flame resistance – to temperature above 1600 °C.

INSULATION CHARACTERISTICS AT HIGH TEMPERATURE
IPSIIS foam is also an excellent insulation material at high temperatures: the conductivity values measured are as follows: 0,14 W/mK at 200ºC; 0,17 W/mK at 800ºC et 0,24 W/mK at 1000ºC.

COLD COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
IPSIIS foam is a versatile material: the density can be adapted in order to respond to specific requirements (increased compressive strength for example).
Adapted to high temperature projects, the compressive strength measured is close to 2,5 MPa.

LOW INERTIA
IPSIIS ceramic foam is a new choice for this application: its low thermal inertia characterized by a low effusivity makes the material suitable for flash temperature applications, reducing the energy lost on each heating cycle.

FULLY RECYCLED PRODUCTS
IPSIIS foam is produced using non-ressource depleting raw materials and can valorize certain industrial wastes (ceramic cutting wastes and at the end of life, IPSIIS foams can be fully recycled in a rewarding circular economy.
